This could be scratches, nicks/dings, light or dark spots, and other small blemishes on the brackets, bar, or both. The 4th thru 9th pictures show the types of issues that may be present (no single unit has all these issues). Some issues would be non-visible once installed (a scratch on only one side of the bar that could be mounted to the back side, for example, or a nick on the underside of a bracket), but others are on the top or front-facing surfaces. Be sure you are OK with small cosmetic issues before purchasing.
